The history
Established in 1914 by Karl Winter, Fischer-Vroni started out as a fish wholesaler and brought grilled fish on a stick to Oktoberfest, where it was an instant success. Karl rebuilt the company after World War II, and now his grandson Hans Stadtmüller Jr. operates the legendary tent. Moved to Theresienwiese in 1998, Fischer-Vroni now has 700 additional seats, remaining a must-stop Oktoberfest tradition.
Fischer-Vroni Speciality
Its special offerings includes:
- Grilled Fish on Display: The famous “fish on a stick” is prepared in front of guests on an open grill spanning 15 meters, offering a fresh and flavorful experience.
- Live Music: The Markus Feierabend band, Münchner Musikanten, performs daily until 6 PM, followed by the popular Münchner Zwietracht band in the evenings, keeping the festive spirit alive.
- Fun Finale: On the last Wiesn evening, roles are swapped—women wear lederhosen and men don dirndls—as the final beer is served, ending the festival with laughter and tradition.

Prosecco Monday, or Gay Monday and Pink Party, occurs on the second Wiesn Monday. The event is attended by the Bavarian LGBTQ+ community as well as by traditional customers, making for an interesting atmosphere different from the common Fischer-Vroni crowd.
Because it is popular, finding an available seat without a reservation for a table can be difficult, so advance planning is necessary. Known as one of the best party days, Prosecco Monday is a must-experience celebration of diversity and fun.
Festzelt serving beer
The Fischer-Vroni Festzelt is famous for offering the delicious Augustiner Bräu beer, served straight from old 200-liter wooden barrels for a genuine flavor. In 2024, they will also offer non-alcoholic beer for the first time, to suit a broader palate.
opening hours and reservations
The Fischer-Vroni Festzelt is open every day from 10:00 AM to closing at 11:30 PM. Only reservations online are accepted, while fax, mail, and email requests go unanswered. With such high demand, reservations rarely become available to the public, but last-minute reservations will sometimes be provided.
Regulars are given the opportunity to pick up Sunday afternoon and holiday shifts, providing an opportunity to experience this amazing tent.
Location & Accessibility
The Fischer-Vroni Festzelt is well located on the north side of Theresienwiese, to the left after the main gate. It’s within walking distance from the Hackerbrücke S-Bahn station and the Theresienwiese U-Bahn station. For those who are coming in through other gates, the most convenient route is through Wirtsbudenstrasse, where all the big beer tents are located.
