the history

Established in 2007 by Magnus Müller-Rischart, Café Kaiserschmarrn swaps beer for cocktails and reimagines Oktoberfest with whimsical, castle-inspired décor and desserts like its namesake caramelised pancake. This business, which has its roots in Rischart’s Backhaus, a fifth-generation Munich bakery established in 1883, combines innovation and tradition.

Reputable for prioritising quality over growth, Rischart’s 19 locations, including the well-known Marienplatz bakery, now carry on their tradition during Oktoberfest by showcasing Bavarian cuisine.

Special offering

Live Music & Atmosphere:

Bands like Tetrapack, Karussell, and Saugut fill the tent with lively energy during the day, and the 089 Band’s incredible performances light up the night. As hosts and bands keep the party going strong, a catwalk transforms the area from a welcoming café into a vibrant dance floor.

Wedding Cake Tradition:

In remembrance of the historic royal wedding that served as the inspiration for Oktoberfest, a multi-tiered wedding cake is ceremoniously sliced and shared freely every day at 2:00 PM. A charming homage to custom that brings guests together in joy.

Live Kaiserschmarrn Prep:

Watch as chefs create fluffy Kaiserschmarrn in a huge cast-iron pan, caramelised to perfection and then ripped apart right in front of you. This dessert is a must-see (and must-taste!) because of its sizzle, aroma, and theatrical flair.

Beer

Instead of serving beer, Café Kaiserschmarrn specialises in a variety of non-alcoholic drinks, inventive cocktails like the Caipirinha, Spritz, and Hugo, and sparkling wine. Perfect for people looking for a unique Oktoberfest experience with a variety of drink selections.
