the history

Wiesnstadl a seafood highlight at Munich’s Oktoberfest since 2013, was founded by Peter Lingnau, a seasoned fairground vendor since 1991. In 1993, Lingnau started out with a small seafood stand and gained recognition for his friendliness and delicious food. He made his first attempt at serving beer alongside his renowned seafood in 2013 with the launch of the Wiesnstadl, a comfortable tent with a maritime theme that seats 137 people and has a bar shaped like a fishing boat.

Known for its fresh catches and rustic charm embraces tent dining while staying true to its street-food roots and serving 26 different fish sandwiches. To increase its visibility at the festival, Lingnau moved the tent to Straße 4 Ost in 2018.

Throughout the 16 days of Oktoberfest, seven bands rotate through the Bäda Wiesnstadl tent, providing a vibrant musical lineup. Every day at noon, music begins, establishing the mood for the celebrations.

  • On September 20, 21, 27, 28, 29, and October 4, 5, the “SoN UNPLUGGED” band will perform live, bringing acoustic charm to the stage.
  • The tent’s well-liked “house band,” Flottn3er, plays every day from September 20 to October 5 at 6:00 PM, guaranteeing lively evenings.
  • While “Tile Table Music” keeps the feet tapping with dance tunes and pub classics from September 22–25, 29–30, and October 1–2.
  • “The Derbies” add flair on September 26 and October 3.
  • Markus” introduces the tent’s festival anthem, adding to the enchantment and completing a varied soundtrack that combines custom and modern beats.

Fisch-Bäda has a carefully selected Oktoberfest beers, classic brews, and fine wines/champagnes ideally complemented by its seafood specialties.

The tent has served as a dining staple of Oktoberfest for the past 30 years, pampering visitors with top-notch fish specialties fresh from pure rivers and seas. The menu contains 

  • Seafood Stars: Over 20 fish sandwiches, plus char, zander, oysters, salmon trout, prawns, and the signature Fisch-Bäda-Pflanzerl (fish patty) with potato-cucumber salad.
  •  Meat Lovers: Beef fillet, beef ragout, or grilled roast beef—perfect for those craving turf over surf.
  • Vegan Delights: Organic cheese spätzle with fried onions or a plant-based bowl (chili-spiced veggie balls, grilled veggies, potatoes, and chili rouille).
  • Longdrinks: Sip on gin tonic, whisky cola, vodka lemon, vodka bull, or a classic Cuba Libre.

Reservations at Fisch-Bäda are booked through their German online reservation form, calling for guests to guarantee a minimum amount of food vouchers per reservation. Families are given priority during the day for a child-friendly environment ideal for family meals and holiday merriment.

Easily reachable by Munich Hauptbahnhof (Central Station) with a quick stroll or tram ride, Fisch-Bäda is situated at Straße 4 Ost during Oktoberfest.
